Venezuela becomes the only country to win four different Miss International Crowns

Venezuela has already proven its dominance at Miss International with the maximum number of crowns, the most recent with Andrea Rubio’s win at Miss International 2023. Moreover, Andrea’s win has not just solidified Venezuela’s dominance at Miss International but also made history in many other aspects.

Andrea Rubio, winning Miss International 2023, has become the first winner from Venezuela to wear the ‘Long Beach Pearl’ crown, making Venezuela the only country to have worn four different Miss International crowns. It is why Venezuela is considered the powerhouse of the pageant world.

Andrea took to her official social media about winning the crown and wrote, “Together, everyone achieves more. A team achievement will always be enjoyed better. And no, I still don’t believe it, but I always believed in the power of our actions to achieve each goal. Today, and always proud to be in Venezuela! Thank you to everyone who did their bit to achieve this great dream.”

Venezuela pioneered its win at Miss International in 1985 when Nina Sicilia was crowned the Miss International queen. The second and third crowns came in 1997 and 2000 with Consuelo Adler and Vivian Urdaneta’s win. The 2000s was a good decade for Venezuela, with a 2003, 2006, and 2010 win. Edymar Martinez obtained the successive crown for Venezuela in 2015, while Mariem Velazco won in 2018, after which Rubio clinched the ninth crown.

Conclusion

The beauty contest has developed through the years to meet new areas and develop progressive attitudes toward sex and female beauty. In the early days of the Miss America Pageant, the emphasis was not on brains, wit, and talent but on the young women’s physical appearance and graceful movements. However, the beauty pageant’s focus has shifted in recent years and now values intelligence, talent and the general awareness of the world needs.
